Job summary

Creare is seeking a hands-on Electrical Engineer to design, assemble, and test complex electromechanical systems in our lab and field environments. You will collaborate with electrical, mechanical, and software engineers and skilled technicians to bring R&D concepts to life, from test rigs to control panels and wire harnesses.

Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s in Electrical Engineering with 5+ years in hands-on design, system integration or industrial automation, and proficiency in

Qualifications

  • Design and build test apparatus, wire harnesses, and control panels for R&D systems.
  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on electrical design or industrial automation experience.
  • Proficiency with SolidWorks Electrical; familiarity with ECAD tools.
  • Experience with VFDs, PLCs, and control system programming.
  • LabVIEW experience preferred.
  • Strong understanding of wiring standards, panel layout, and harness design.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Design and build test apparatus, wire harnesses, and control panels for R&D systems.
  • Select, program and configure VFDs, PLCs, and other control components.
  • Support system integration, troubleshooting, and prototype validation.
  • Document wiring diagrams, BOMs, and test procedures using relevant software.
  • Adhere to UL 508A, NFPA 79, NFPA 70 and other industry standards.

Job description

Creare is seeking a hands-on Electrical Engineer to support the design, assembly, and testing of complex electromechanical systems. This role is ideal for engineers who enjoy building and integrating real-world systems, ranging from test apparatus and control panels to wire harnesses and industrial automation setups.

You'll be part of Creare's interdisciplinary team, working closely with electrical, mechanical, and software engineers and skilled technicians to bring R&D concepts to life in our lab and field environments.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and build test apparatus, wire harnesses, and control panels for R&D systems
  • Select, program and configure VFDs, PLCs, and other industrial control components
  • Support system integration, troubleshooting, and validation of prototypes
  • Follow industry standard practices and regulatory standards like UL 508A, NFPA 79, and NFPA 70
  • Develop and maintain documentation including wiring diagrams, BOMs, and test procedures, using SolidWorks Electrical, Microsoft Office, and related software tools

Professional Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, science or related field
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in hands-on electrical product design, system integration or industrial automation (preferably in an R&D environment)
  • Proficiency with SolidWorks Electrical and familiarity with ECAD tools
  • Experience with VFDs, PLCs, and control system programming
  • Proficiency with Labview preferred
  • Strong understanding of wiring standards, panel layout, and harness design
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills

Creare offers a competitive compensation package, including but not limited to a substantial annual staff bonus (e.g., 20% of annual earnings for 2024), industry-leading 401(k) contributions and plan options, a range of medical plans, and the potential for a signing /startup bonus. Salary range of $90,000 - $140,000 per year, based on level of education completed and years of relevant work experience.
