Job summary

Woolpert in the United States is seeking an Electrical Engineer-In-Training to join our Electrical Engineering team in Fairview Heights, IL. You will perform electrical engineering functions under supervision of a Professional Engineer, working with a multidisciplinary team to produce construction-ready design packages for diverse projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET/EAC-accredited program.
• Solid understanding of engineering principles, field investigations, construction observations, and the application of advanced engineering techniques.
• Ability to participate in field investigations.
• Ability to read, analyze and interpret basic scientific, technical, financial, and legal documents.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to respond effectively to sensitive inquiries from clients, regulatory agencies, and/or members of the business community.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills for both internal and external relationships.
• Strong Microsoft Office suite skills.
• Knowledge of discipline-related software applications.
• Knowledge of industry standards and regulations in these sectors.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Ability and willingness to engage in continuous learning and professional development.

Responsibilities

• Perform engineering computations, conduct evaluations, design analyses, and design development.
• Prepare plans, specifications, reports, cost estimates, recommendations, and opinions for approval by a supervising Professional Engineer.
• Apply standard engineering practices and techniques to adjust and correlate data; recognize and resolve discrepancies in results and follows operations through a series of related steps or processes.
• Work as a member of a project team in the development of data and/or applications. Use CAD to develop engineering and design documents.
• Serve as a field engineer during construction of a project.
