Woolpert in Fairview Heights, IL, is seeking an Electrical Engineer‑In‑Training to join our Electrical Engineering team. You will contribute to construction‑ready design packages and work under a Professional Engineer on a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET/EAC-accredited program.
• Ability to participate in field investigations.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Ability to read, analyze and interpret basic scientific, technical, financial, and legal documents.

Responsibilities

• Perform engineering computations, evaluations, design analyses, and design development.
• Prepare plans, specifications, reports, cost estimates, recommendations, and opinions for approval by a supervising Professional Engineer.
• Apply standard engineering practices to adjust and correlate data; recognize and resolve discrepancies in results and follow operations through related steps.
• Work as a member of a project team in the development of data and/or applications and use CAD to develop engineering and design documents.
• Serve as a field engineer during construction of a project.

Position Overview

Woolpert is hiring an Electrical Engineer‑In‑Training to join our Electrical Engineering team in Fairview Heights, IL. The position reports to the Electrical Engineering Team Leader and is responsible for performing electrical engineering functions under the direction of a Professional Engineer. The Electrical Engineer‑In‑Training will work with a multidisciplinary team of engineers and designers to provide construction‑ready design packages for a variety of project types locally and beyond.

What You Will Do:

• Perform engineering computations, evaluations, design analyses, and design development.

• Ability to respond effectively to sensitive inquiries from clients, regulatory agencies, and/or members of the business community.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills for both internal and external relationships.
• Knowledge of discipline‑related software applications.
• Knowledge of industry standards and regulations in these sectors.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Ability and willingness to engage in continuous learning and professional development.
