Job summary

Lockwood, Andrews & Newnam, Inc. (LAN) seeks an Engineer I under close supervision to assist with engineering system design across multiple projects. You will perform design calculations, prepare cost estimates, impact studies, and deliverable drawings.

Responsibilities include supporting engineers and designers, applying standard procedures, collecting data, preparing drawings, and attending meetings to ensure code compliance. Some site investigations and limited client-facing work may occur.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
• 0–1 year experience (preferred).
• Engineer-in-Training (EIT) is a plus.
• Strong grasp of core engineering principles.
• Familiarity with core engineering tools (AutoCAD, MATLAB, SolidWorks).

Responsibilities

• Assist in design and detailing of engineering systems; write/edit specifications and research options.
• Apply prescribed techniques to tasks and document findings; provide recommendations.
• Collect data and perform basic computations; prepare drawings and visual aids.
• Participate in meetings to ensure code compliance; may conduct site investigations.
• Limited client-facing interactions may occur with staff, public officials, and contractors.
