Job summary

Lockwood, Andrews & Newnam, Inc. (LAN) is seeking an Engineer I to support multiple projects under close supervision. You will assist with engineering system design, perform design calculations, prepare reports and cost estimates, and produce deliverable drawings.

You will work with engineers and designers, applying standard techniques while developing core engineering skills and familiarity with project workflows.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering is required.
• Engineer-in-Training (EIT) is preferred.
• 0–1 year experience is preferred.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD, MATLAB, SolidWorks or discipline-specific software.

Responsibilities

• Assist Engineers and Designers in the design and detail of engineering systems; write/edit specifications and research design options on appropriate devices, equipment, and system selections.
• Apply prescribed techniques and procedures in accordance with established criteria to perform assigned tasks. Research document findings and providing recommendations.
• Collect data, gather information and perform basic and standard computations or analysis. May prepare drawings and visual aids.
• Participate in meetings and reviews to ensure code compliance. May conduct site investigations and observations.
• May interact with staff, the public, officials, and contractors. Limited client-facing responsibilities.
