Job summary

Lockwood, Andrews & Newnam, Inc. (LAN) is seeking an Engineer I to assist with engineering system design across multiple projects. The role involves performing design calculations, preparing cost estimates, and producing deliverable drawings under close supervision.

The candidate should hold a Bachelor’s degree in engineering and may have 0–1 year of experience, with EIT preferred. Familiarity with AutoCAD, MATLAB, and SolidWorks is advantageous.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
• 0-1 year experience
• Engineer-in-Training/Fundamentals of Engineering (EIT) preferred
• Strong grasp of core engineering principles relevant to their discipline
• Familiarity with AutoCAD, MATLAB, SolidWorks and discipline-specific software

Responsibilities

• Assist Engineers and Designers in the design and detail of engineering systems; write/edit specifications and research design options on appropriate devices, equipment, and system selections.
• Apply prescribed techniques and procedures in accordance with established criteria to perform assigned tasks. Research document findings and providing recommendations.
• Collects data, gathers information and performs basic and standard computations or analysis. May prepare drawings and visual aids.
• Participate in meetings and reviews to ensure code compliance. May conduct site investigations and observations.
• May interact with staff, the public, officials, and contractors. Limited client-facing responsibilities.
