Job summary

Invenergy LLC, headquartered in Chicago, seeks an Operations Electrical Engineer to manage the Electrical Maintenance program for its operating fleet. The role supports a hybrid schedule: in office Monday–Thursday and remote on Fridays, with travel (<25%) to sites for contractor testing and training.

Responsibilities include coordinating maintenance items, developing test guides, ensuring NERC compliance, and collaborating with Project Development on new scopes, while maintaining contractor relationships and documenting results.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering required.
• 3–5 years of work experience.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics.
• Strong knowledge of electrical testing; field experience a plus.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office products.
• Strong project management skills.
• Some travel and field work (<25%).
• Valid driver’s license and US work eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Manage Electrical Maintenance Program with testing scope, intervals, and documentation.
• Coordinate completion of open maintenance items with regional engineers.
• Manage maintenance contractor database and new contractor relationships.
• Ensure maintenance program aligns with NERC requirements with the Compliance Team.
• Develop electrical test guide and lead trainings for teams and site personnel.
• Own site balance of plant maintenance including inspections and tests.
• Collaborate with Project Development on new project test scope.
• Review third‑party test scope and adapt programs to customer needs.
• Travel to sites to oversee contractor testing and train new engineers.
• Coordinate with Procurement on contracts with maintenance contractors.
