Job summary

Invenergy LLC, headquartered in Chicago, seeks an Operations Electrical Engineer to manage substation and BOP electrical maintenance for its operating fleet. You will coordinate with internal teams and contractors, oversee testing records in PowerDB, and ensure compliance with NERC standards.

The role requires 3–5+ years' experience, strong communication skills, and travel up to 25%. Base pay ranges from $105,000 to $130,000 per year, plus a 20–30% bonus and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 3–5+ years of work experience in electrical maintenance or engineering.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Some travel is required (<25%).
• Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
• Eligible to work in the United States without employer visa sponsorship now or in the future.

Responsibilities

• Manage substation and balance-of-plant electrical maintenance programs, including NERC-required/NETA-recommended testing and inspections.
• Coordinate with internal teams and external maintenance contractors to complete routine maintenance scopes.
• Oversee closing of open maintenance items and work with regional engineers on additional scope.
• Oversee the integration of PowerDB for managing electrical test records.
• Maintain relationships with maintenance contractors and develop new ones with Procurement.
• Ensure maintenance program aligns with NERC requirements with the NERC Compliance Team.
• Review equipment maintenance and testing reports for safety, reliability, and regulatory compliance.
• Review third-party site testing requirements and adapt internal programs accordingly.
• Coordinate with Project Development to turnover test records for new projects.
• Travel to sites to oversee testing and train new engineers.
