CTG's long-standing Fortune 500 client of over 15 years has a W2 contract assignment for an Electrical Engineer III.
Type: Contract
Job Title: Electrical Engineer III
Location: Wilmington, NC
Candidates must be able to commute and work onsite in Wilmington, NC
Pay Rate: Based on experience
Work Hours: M-F 8am–5pm
Education: BS in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience
Description
The Electrical Engineer III will serve as a Project Engineer supporting the construction, installation, debug, and startup of equipment and automated systems. This is a hands-on role that requires a significant presence on the manufacturing floor and the ability to lead internal and external resources throughout the project lifecycle. The successful candidate will be instrumental in driving safety, quality, and efficiency during equipment installations and upgrades.
Requirements:
• Provide electrical engineering support for equipment installations at domestic and international sites
• Supervise and direct engineering techs, maintenance staff, and outside contractors
• Ensure compliance with safety procedures and report/incidents as required
• Develop and maintain project plans and schedules
• Interface with external vendors and system integrators
• Lead troubleshooting efforts and implement engineering solutions
• Provide training and documentation for new equipment installations
• Review and modify technical documentation and drawing packages
• Procure and track materials for installations
• Assess condition of existing equipment and determine suitability for reuse
• Modify and validate control software for equipment systems
• Support system integration, control logic development, and I/O configuration
• Redesign components to enhance equipment performance and reduce cost
Required Qualifications
Education
• BS in Electrical Engineering or equivalent. Equivalent work experience may be considered in rare cases.
Qualifications
• Strong knowledge of power systems (480VAC and below)
• Proven ability to translate engineering requirements into functional equipment designs
• Skilled in reading and interpreting electrical schematics and drawings
• Demonstrated ability to work across disciplines (mechanical, IT, process)
• Hands-on skills with standard tools, instruments, and alignment devices
• Strong multi-tasking, organizational, and safety awareness skills
• Effective communicator who can interface with all levels of the organization
• Self-motivated, results-driven, and able to adapt in dynamic environments
