Job summary

Crane Aerospace & Electronics in West Caldwell, NJ seeks an experienced Electrical Engineer III to join our team. You will define and implement complex analog/digital and high-power designs for aerospace and defense applications, while ensuring regulatory compliance and manufacturability.

Responsibilities include cross-functional collaboration, design verification, and support for testing and integration across product lines.

Qualifications

• Experience: 5 years of relevant work experience.
• BA or BS Degree in an engineering discipline; Masters or PhD preferred.
• Eligibility: This position may require access to Controlled Data; ITAR applies; US Persons only for access.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate across engineering, operations, quality, and business to meet performance, cost, manufacturability, and regulatory goals.
• Support continuous improvement via Kaizen, 5S, problem-solving, and thorough technical reporting.
• Define and interpret product/process requirements for development, sustaining, and R&D with schedule and budget planning.
• Produce accurate design and development work meeting cost, schedule, quality, reliability, and producibility targets.
• Identify root causes and corrective actions; support IPT activities with strong communication.
• Analyze design requirements, define approaches, and support testing for new or modified designs.

Essential Functions

• Work effectively across engineering, operations, quality, and business teams to achieve product performance, cost, manufacturability, and regulatory compliance goals.
• Support continuous improvement through Kaizen, 5S, structured problem-solving, and creation of thorough technical reports, analyses, and documentation.
• Define and interpret product and process requirements for development, sustaining, and R&D efforts while planning and managing work to meet schedule and budget targets.
• Produce accurate and complex design and development work that meets customer and company requirements for cost, schedule, quality, reliability, and producibility.
• Use effective problem‑solving methods to identify root causes and corrective actions, and support IPT activities through strong communication and team collaboration.
• Analyze design requirements, define design approaches, and support testing activities for new or modified designs as assigned by management.

Minimum Qualifications

Experience: 5 years of relevant work experience

Education/Certification: BA or BS Degree in an engineering discipline. Masters or PhD preferred.

Eligibility Requirement

This position may require access to Controlled Data or Information. Where the position requires such access only US Persons will be considered. As a US Department of Defense contractor, we are bound by International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).

Working Conditions

• Standard office environment
• Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment
• Manufacturing operations may require the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to: eye safety glasses, gowning, masks, hearing protectors, heel/wrist straps and any other required PPE
• May be exposed to unusual environmental conditions such as loud noises, cold temperatures, confined spaces, dust or fumes
• Requires work with small to medium size hand and power tools
• Occasional travel to customer and outside test lab facilities for technical interchange meetings, design reviews, product testing support, and to attend technical seminars
• May need to travel domestically and internationally (up to 10%)
