Electrical Engineer – Upper Level

TJC and Associates, Inc. (TJCAA) is a multi-disciplinary engineering firm specializing in electrical and structural design engineering services. Our core offerings include structural, instrumentation, control, electrical, and control systems programming. We primarily serve engineering firms, public agencies, and businesses on projects such as water and wastewater treatment plants, reservoirs, pump stations, chemical storage, and commercial buildings. Over 27 years, we have built a skilled workforce dedicated to problem-solving and water/wastewater facilities.

Our Engineering Team is growing!

We seek a hardworking, bright, and creative upper-level engineer to join us. You will oversee mid-level engineers and designers, preparing plans, specifications, reports, design calculations, and research. You will support field data collection and perform high-level electrical engineering tasks related to complex electrical power systems for water and wastewater treatment facilities.

Location: 2300 Clayton Road, Suite 1450, Concord, CA 94520-2146

Alternate Location: 1111 Broadway, Suite 300, Oakland, CA 94607-4167

Status: Full-time

Schedule: Monday–Friday, with flexible start/end times and potential hybrid work after training

Compensation: $146,000 – $175,000 annually, based on experience

Primary responsibilities:

  • Assist with project planning, staffing, supervising technical teams, managing budgets, and overseeing design and QA/QC of projects
  • Ensure engineering objectives are met, resolve operational issues, and evaluate staff performance
  • Prepare plans, specifications, reports, and perform technical analyses
  • Understand electrical codes and design software
  • Develop electrical design reports, calculations, and drawings
  • Collaborate with clients, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams
  • Prepare project deliverables adhering to standards and timelines
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Education and experience:

  • 7–12 years of relevant work experience
  • Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering; Master’s preferred
  • PE License in CA
  • Project management experience
  • Experience with power, lighting, and control systems for water/wastewater facilities preferred
  • U.S. citizen or authorized to work in the U.S.
