Job summary

U.S. Electrical Testing on the M.C. Dean Sustainability team seeks an Electrical Engineer to enhance performance, safety, and reliability of electrical systems at client facilities. Lead arc flash analyses, power studies, and model development to ensure safety and regulatory compliance.

The role requires experience with IEEE 1584, NFPA 70E, and protection schemes, plus ability to obtain a Top-Secret clearance. Occasional field data collection and client-facing collaboration are expected.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of work experience with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering.
  • 0+ years with a Master of Science degree in Engineering.
  • Experience leading troubleshooting, commissioning, and testing projects in power systems.
  • Experience in electrical engineering focused on existing buildings and infrastructure.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Perform arc flash hazard analysis per IEEE 1584 and NFPA 70E.
  • Conduct short-circuit coordination and load flow studies.
  • Perform power quality analysis at facilities.
  • Develop electrical models using SKM, PowerTools, ETAP, or EasyPower.
  • Collect and interpret site electrical data and prepare one-line diagrams.
  • Update client facility diagrams and arc flash reports.
  • Provide guidance on electrical safety compliance and risk mitigation.
  • Collaborate with field technicians, safety personnel, and project managers.
  • Assist in training materials on electrical safety and arc flash awareness.
