Job summary

Arcfield seeks an Electrical Engineer II to design, integrate, test, troubleshoot, and modernize imaging systems for U.S. Navy vessels.

You will work hands-on with electronics, PCBs, RF systems, and shipboard hardware, collaborating with Navy customers and multidisciplinary teams. You will contribute across the lifecycle—from design to installation and in-service support—while solving technical challenges in a lab environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering or closely related field.
  • 2–4 years of relevant engineering experience; or Master’s with 0–2 years experience.
  • Hands-on experience with electrical/hardware design, integration, testing, or troubleshooting.
  • Experience using lab equipment (multimeters, oscilloscopes, power supplies, logic analyzers, FieldFox).
  • Familiarity with schematic capture, simulation, or PCB tools (Altium, OrCAD, LTspice).
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Ability to work onsite in Middletown/Newport, Rhode Island; travel up to ~10%.
  • Ability to obtain/maintain U.S. Government Secret clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Design electrical schematics, diagrams, interfaces, and Technical Data Packages (TDPs).
  • Design, develop, modify, and integrate PCBs and electronic assemblies.
  • Prototype, test, troubleshoot, and debug hardware in lab.
  • Support Navy imaging systems aboard vessels.
  • Develop test plans and support readiness reviews and certification activities.
  • Create system interconnect diagrams and wire harness designs.
  • Evaluate military-spec and COTS components.
