Job summary

Duke Energy's PMC Design Engineering - Electrical group seeks an Engineer II/III to support major project phases from scoping to turnover. You will work with the project team on interconnection design, cost estimates, schedules, risks, and contract development, applying engineering standards and coordinating design reviews.

Ideal candidates hold an ABET-accredited degree, 2+ years (or 4+ for III) of experience, and PE licensure for advanced roles.

Qualifications

BS in Engineering from ABET-accredited program; master's considered in lieu.
Engineer II requires minimum 2 years engineering experience; Engineer III requires minimum 4 years.
Engineer III requires state PE licensure (or BS with licensure).

Responsibilities

Support development, scoping, and EPC bid package documentation.
Support interconnection design and agreements for development stage projects.
Assist cost estimate, schedule, risk analysis, bid evaluation and contract development.
Provide engineering oversight to ensure compliance with project requirements and standards.
Participate in design reviews, drawing reviews, construction support, RFIs, commissioning support and warranty.
Prepare technical reports, calculations, and sketches; recommend process improvements and standards.
Conduct and review power system related studies; coordinate with project team to meet goals.
Travel 25% and maintain effective communication with stakeholders.
