Job summary

Selectek in Florida seeks an Electrical Engineer II to design electrical concepts aligned with project vision, leveraging the consulting engineering process. The role emphasizes BIM coordination, code compliance, and strong client communication.

You will work on lighting, power distribution, emergency generation, fire alarm, and security systems, coordinating with architects and other disciplines across all design phases. Leadership and mentoring are encouraged.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering.
5+ years in electrical design for commercial buildings.
2+ years coordinating multi-discipline teams.
Experience with design-build, fast-track methods.
Proficient in Revit MEP and other engineering software.
Strong communication and presentation skills.
Ability to prepare project specifications and manuals.

Responsibilities

Define project scope and design electrical systems (lighting, power, emergency, fire alarm, security).
Develop cost-effective layouts, sizes, and specs; verify code compliance.
Prepare BIM drawings and coordinate with all disciplines through all phases.
Perform construction administration tasks including site observations and shop drawing reviews.
Maintain client relationships and manage scope variances to keep projects on track.
Mentor less experienced electrical designers; perform miscellaneous duties.
