Job summary

Merlin Labs is seeking an electrical engineer to design and integrate power distribution, avionics interfaces, harnessing, sensors, and embedded electronics for autonomous aircraft platforms. You will work with flight test, software, and mechanical teams to take concepts from prototype to flight readiness.

You will craft schematics, wiring diagrams, and electrical documentation, perform lab bring-up and validation, and contribute to reliability and manufacturability in a fast-paced startup

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Aerospace, or related field.
• 3–5 years in aerospace or high-performance hardware.
• Experience designing and integrating electrical systems for complex platforms.
• Experience with wiring diagrams, harness docs, and integration drawings.
• Familiarity with avionics interfaces, power systems, and signal integrity.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and integrate electrical systems for autonomous aircraft platforms.
• Create schematics, wiring diagrams, and documentation.
• Support architecture development, component selection, integration, and validation.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration.
• Perform electrical analysis, troubleshooting, and root-cause investigations.
• Support prototype bring-up, environmental testing, and flight tests.
• Develop and execute electrical test plans and qualification activities.
• Work with suppliers and manufacturing partners for production readiness.
• Contribute to reliability, weight optimization, and power efficiency initiatives.
• Operate in fast-moving startup environment with evolving priorities.
