Job summary

M.C. Dean is seeking an Electrical Engineer to lead arc flash analysis, power system studies, and model development for facilities. You will ensure safety, reliability, and regulatory compliance while collaborating with facilities, operations, and engineering teams.

Responsibilities include performing studies, creating one-line diagrams, and delivering arc flash reports. Expect exposure to field data collection, training material development, and occasional client-site travel.

Qualifications

• Arc flash hazard analysis per IEEE 1584 and NFPA 70E.
• Troubleshooting, commissioning, and testing in power systems.
• Experience with electrical drawings, utility coordination, and protective relaying schemes.

Responsibilities

• Perform arc flash hazard analysis per IEEE 1584 and NFPA 70E.
• Perform short-circuit, protective device coordination, and load flow studies.
• Perform power quality analysis to identify issues at existing facilities.
• Develop electrical system models using SKM, PowerTools, ETAP, or EasyPower.
• Collect and interpret site-specific electrical data, including one-line diagrams and protective device settings.
• Develop and update electrical one-line diagrams for client facilities.
• Prepare and review arc flash reports with incident energy calculations and PPE levels.
• Provide guidance on electrical safety compliance and risk mitigation.
• Collaborate with field technicians, safety personnel, and project managers to ensure data accuracy and project execution.
• Contribute to training materials on electrical safety and arc flash awareness.
