Job summary

Dover Imaging & Identification (DII) is seeking a design engineer to create next‑gen marking and coding hardware. You will work with FPGA developers, software, mechanical, and reliability engineers to implement requirements and validate designs in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities include hardware design, circuit analysis, test plan development, and cooperation with OEM partners to ensure robust, manufacturable solutions.

Qualifications

  • BS in electrical engineering or related field with hardware focus.
  • Experience reading electrical/electronic schematics and VHDL.
  • Experience with circuit design, SPICE analysis, and testing equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Design engineering for new and legacy marking and coding products.
  • Implement hardware designs based on requirements and specs.
  • Perform circuit analysis and simulations for reliability.
  • Develop and execute hardware test plans and validation benches.
  • Document interconnects, harnesses, and assembly drawings.
  • Collaborate with OEMs and internal teams for verification.
  • Participate in design reviews and DFx activities (manufacturability, test).
  • Hands-on work with PLCs, Arduino, Raspberry Pi, and similar HW.
  • Collect, process, and report test data; provide feedback to software/reliability teams.

Working with suppliers and technical teams to maintain production continuity and validate HW. We have a challenging, fast paced environment where you’ll work alongside with FPGA developers, software engineers, mechanical and reliability engineers to understand specifications and then implement designs based on these requirements. Performing a wide variety of complex electrical, software or support duties in development and implementation of test, debugging or documentation of electronics designs, as well as design and build test benches for product validation and reliability testingJob Responsibilities:Design Engineering for new and legacy productsImplementing hardware design based on requirements specificationsPerforming circuit analysis and simulations to ensure correct operation over all environmental factorsDevelop and implement hardware test plansDesigning and documenting interconnects and harnessesObserve requirements for design for manufacturing, test, field service and costInterface with other engineering teams, stakeholders and customers to understand the application space and business requirementsSupport Current Products finding design solutions to obsolete components and designsCommunicate with OEM manufacturers and third-party engineering partners to facilitate design and verification solutionsFollow best practices and procedures to improve design qualityParticipate in electrical and cross-functional design reviewsWorking hands-on with PLC’s, Arduino, Raspberry Pi and/or other electrical hardwareData collection and processing, documenting, and reporting test resultsProviding understandable feedback to software and reliability engineersJob Requirements:Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Firmware, and Hardware verification.
