Job summary

Hach, a Veralto company, seeks an Electrical Engineer II to design, develop, and sustain electrical subsystems for water-quality products. The role is based in Loveland, Colorado and will be onsite, reporting to the Manager, Hardware Engineering, User Facing Systems.

You’ll work on power architecture, control electronics, and sensor interfaces, collaborating with mechanical, software, and manufacturing teams to deliver robust, scalable solutions and drive product reliability.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • 2+ years in electrical engineering within product development, manufacturing, test, or sustaining environments.
  • Experience with circuit design, schematic capture, testing, debugging, and troubleshooting electronic systems.
  • Ability to analyze problems and develop practical solutions with guidance from senior engineers.
  • Experience working on cross-functional teams.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to design, development, and testing of electrical subsystems (power, control electronics, sensors).
  • Support new product development and sustaining projects with design changes and investigations.
  • Troubleshoot electrical issues affecting performance, reliability, manufacturability, and customer experience.
  • Develop and execute test plans to verify performance across conditions.

About The Role

Reporting to the Manager, Hardware Engineering, User Facing Systems, the Electrical Engineer II supports the design, development, and sustainment of electrical systems that underpin Hach products. This includes power architecture, control electronics, and sensor interfaces that directly impact product performance, reliability, and scalability. This position is part of the Hardware Engineering, User Facing Systems team located in Loveland, Colorado and will be onsite.

In This Role, a Typical Day Will Look Like:
  • Contribute to the design, development, and testing of electrical subsystems, including power systems, control electronics, and sensor interfaces.
  • Support new product development and sustaining engineering projects by executing design changes, investigations, and improvements.
  • Troubleshoot electrical issues related to product performance, reliability, manufacturability, and customer experience.
  • Develop and execute test plans to verify product performance across a range of environmental and operational conditions.
  • Collaborate with senior engineers on system architecture, design reviews, and technical problem-solving activities.
  • Work closely with mechanical, software, systems, manufacturing, quality, and product management teams to develop robust product solutions.
  • Participate in root cause investigations and implementation of corrective actions for manufacturing and field issues.
  • Create and maintain engineering documentation, including schematics, test reports, design records, and change requests.
  • Stay current on applicable technologies, tools, and engineering best practices and apply them to product improvements.
The Essential Requirements of the Job Include:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
  • 2+ years of experience in electrical engineering within product development, manufacturing, test, or sustaining engineering environments.
  • Experience with circuit design, schematic capture, testing, debugging, and troubleshooting electronic systems.
  • Ability to analyze technical problems and develop practical engineering solutions with guidance from senior engineers when needed.
  • Experience working effectively on cross-functional teams.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with analog and digital circuit design.
  • Familiarity with microcontrollers, sensors, communication protocols, and embedded systems.
  • Experience using laboratory equipment such as oscilloscopes, DMMs, logic analyzers, and power supplies.
  • Exposure to regulated product development, design controls, or engineering change processes.
  • Experience with PCB design and layout tools.

The below range reflects the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future. An associate’s position within the salary range will be based on several factors, including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, any collective bargaining agreements, and business or organizational needs.

The compensation range for this role is $85,000 - $95,000 USD per year. This job is also eligible for Bonus Pay.
