Newcomb & Boyd, a multi-discipline engineering firm in Atlanta, GA, seeks an Electrical Engineer II to design electrical building systems and lead design efforts on small to medium projects. Qualifications

• 3+ years of engineering experience in the AEC industry.
• Proficient in Revit and discipline-specific software; strong grasp of building codes and design standards.
• Engineer in Training (EIT) certification preferred; Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design of discipline-specific electrical systems for small to medium projects.
• Assist senior engineers with complex designs, plans, and calculations.
• Perform calculations and simulations.
• Review product submittals and shop drawings.
• Respond to RFIs for assigned scope.
• Conduct site visits and prepare reports.
• Prepare technical documentation and participate in project meetings.
• Ensure project delivery within agreed schedules and budgets.
• Comply with QA/QC procedures and assist in developing project workplans.
• Office-based with regular site visits; adhere to safety requirements.

Electrical Engineer II independently executes engineering tasks, manages components of projects, and coordinates with multidisciplinary teams. Under minimal supervision, this role leads the design, analysis, and implementation of MEP-T systems for small to medium-sized projects and represents the firm to clients in that scope.

Knowledge Skills, And Abilities

• 3+ years of engineering experience in the AEC industry.
• Proficient in Revit and discipline-specific software.
• Strong grasp of building codes and design standards.
• Capable of guiding junior staff and leading internal reviews.
• Able to balance multiple priorities effectively.
• Skilled in preparing reports, proposals, and client communications.
• Comfortable representing the firm to clients for smaller projects.
• Ability to sit/stand for long periods, use standard office equipment, and occasionally lift/move up to 25 lbs. Site visits may involve ladders, uneven terrain, and varied weather.

Education & Licensure

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Engineer in Training (EIT) certification preferred
• Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred
