Job summary

Versant Power, Bangor, ME, seeks an Engineer I to perform electrical engineering duties across protection analysis, substation planning, design, procurement, and commissioning.

Under the Assistant Manager of Engineering, you will support transmission/distribution projects, prepare drawings, and assist field personnel with technical oversight. This role requires a BS in engineering and familiarity with utility standards; some overtime may apply.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Engineering required.
• Experience with PC based software including Excel, AutoCAD, CYME & CAPE preferred.
• Identity verification and seven-year criminal background check per NERC standards.

Responsibilities

• Understand one-lines, three-lines, schematic diagrams and wiring diagrams for the focus areas.
• Project management responsibilities including fiscal control, reporting and closing of projects.
• Oversee use of technical test equipment and manage data/results.
• Interact with field personnel to provide engineering oversight and technical assistance.
• Adhere to applicable standards and regulations per focus area of electrical engineering.
• Develop solutions per system needs and collaborate with other engineers and departments.
