Job summary

System One is seeking an Electrical Engineer PE I in Westmont, IL for a direct-hire, hybrid role (onsite and remote). The position requires a current PE license and 4–6 years of electrical engineering experience.

You will oversee technical design solutions, act as Engineer of Record, and guide projects from conception to completion, using REVIT and NEC familiarity, strong communication, and leadership to deliver compliant, innovative electrical systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering and current PE license.
• Strong proficiency in REVIT and familiarity with NEC.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Comprehensive knowledge of electrical engineering principles and practices.
• Critical thinking skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to effectively multitask in a dynamic environment.
• Willingness to tackle various ongoing projects in a fast-paced setting.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the creation of technical design solutions and/or studies for electrical engineering projects.
• Act as the Engineer of Record (EOR) providing technical authority and direction on electrical designs, studies, and solutions as part of an integrated project team.
• Analyze, develop, and evaluate electrical systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards and project requirements.
• Design and draft blueprints, visit systems in the field, and manage electrical projects from conception to completion.
• Apply engineering techniques and analyses within assigned scope, handling complex issues independently or referring only the most complicated problems to higher-level staff.
• Provide leadership, coaching, and mentoring to team members; may serve as a lead or first-level supervisor.
• Perform work under minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.
• Travel 5-10% to job sites or office locations as required.
