Job summary

Honeywell in Arvada, Colorado is seeking an Electrical Engineer I to join the Controls Engineering Team. You will handling electrical and instrumentation work on pump and compressor production orders used in refineries and power stations worldwide.

Responsibilities include developing P&ID's, designing junction boxes and control panels, programming PLCs, configuring HMIs, and performing FATs with customer witnessing.

Responsibilities

• Performs basic instrumentation and control system engineering tasks and calculations with minimal direction and supervision.
• Performs specification research and assists in development of technical documents.
• Assists in the development of P&ID's and associated I/O.
• Design of junction boxes and control panels.
• Develop PLC programs, HMI configurations, control system design and networks.
• FAT and panel test and verification, including customer witnessing.
• Collaborate within project teams and develop technical knowledge.
• Support Continuous Improvement projects and maintain client relationships.
• Plan communications and present information effectively.
• Work with NFPA70 (NEC), IEC, IECEx, ATEX, CSA, ISA, UL standards; apply company and client standards.
• Travel to customer sites for kickoff, design reviews, and field support; knowledge of rotating equipment, emphasis on compressors.

As an Electrical Engineer I here at Honeywell, The Electrical & Instrumentation Engineers will join the Controls Engineering Team. The E & I Engineer will be responsible for all electrical and instrumentation on our pump and compressor production orders. These engineered-to-order systems are installed in refineries, petrochemical plants, and power stations throughout the world. you'll report directly to Sr Electrical Eng Manager.

This position is based in Arvada, Colorado, USA

Key Responsibilities

• Performs basic instrumentation and control system engineering tasks and calculations with minimal direction and supervision
• Performs specification research
• Assists in development of technical documents
• Assists in the development of P&ID's and associated I/O
• Design of Junction boxes and control panels
• Develop PLC programs, HMI configurations, control system design and control system networks
• FAT & panel test and verification (individually and customer witnessed)
• Works as part of a team on design projects
• Develop and improve technical knowledge and skills
• Support and lead Continuous Improvement projects
• Maintain professionalism in relationships with internal and external customers
• Plan needed communications and how to present the information effectively
• Working knowledge of NFPA70(NEC), IEC, IECEx, ATEX, CSA, ISA and UL standards
• Seeks out company and client technical standards and implements them on projects
• Some travel to customer sites; kickoff meetings, design reviews, HAZOP analysis, field support
• Knowledge of rotating equipment (emphasis on compressors)
