Job summary

Atlas Copco Comptec LLC in Voorheesville, NY, is seeking a Controls Engineer to support the controls and project teams, reporting to the Senior Instrumentation and Controls Engineer. The role offers a hybrid work arrangement between remote and on-site at our Voorheesville manufacturing site.

The position requires leading customer discussions, designing control systems, and applying NEC/IEC/UL standards to compressor instrumentation.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of experience in controls engineering or related field.
• Ability to run projects independently.
• Customer relations experience.
• Understanding of NEC and related standards.
• Proficiency in MS Office and AutoCAD.

As a Controls Engineer, your mission is to provide support to the controls and project teams. You will report to the Senior Instrumentation and Controls Engineer.

Responsibilities

• Read and describe customer specs and incorporate them into designs.
• Lead technical discussions with customers and sub‑vendors while providing accurate technical answers on engineering issues.
• Direct panel designs to internalsystems.
• Understand and apply electrical industry standards (NEC, IEC, ATEX, UL, CSA, etc.) to compressor instrumentation and control systems.
• Conduct design review meetings to ensure the completeness and accuracy of the control system deliverables and ensure designs comply with relevant work instructions and/or international standards.
