Job summary

The Bureau of Reclamation in the United States seeks an Electrical Engineer to perform complex analyses and design for electrical systems and facilities supporting hydropower and water projects. This full-time position may involve evenings, holidays, and overtime, with telework eligibility.

At the full performance level, you will oversee construction, perform diagnostics, reliability programs, and participate in engineering reviews and mentoring. Salary posted ranges apply.

Qualifications

• Mandatory education requirement with transcripts submission.
• Experience at GS-12 level and above is implied by the position grade.

Responsibilities

• Performs complex engineering analyses and designs for electrical systems and facilities.
• Conducts planning, data collection, modeling, troubleshooting, and risk assessment for hydropower, transmission, pumping, control, and communication systems.
• Manages construction activities: reviews designs, develops specs, evaluates submittals, sequencing, and on-site inspections; may serve as COR.
• Coordinates scheduled and emergency maintenance; troubleshoots equipment issues; performs diagnostics and reliability programs.
• Produces and reviews technical reports, drawings, cost estimates, permit applications; presents findings in meetings.
• Plans condition assessments, inspections, root-cause analyses, compliance reviews; identifies deficiencies and corrective actions; mentors engineers.
