A multi-discipline engineering firm is looking for an Electrical Engineer to join their Detroit team. Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Develop electrical system designs including power distribution, lighting, controls.
• Ensure all design work adheres to applicable codes and standards.
• Work closely with architecture teams and other disciplines.
• Produce technical drawings, reports, and studies supporting project needs
• Assist with data collection and evaluation in support of engineering analyses
• Work closely with architecture teams, mechanical engineers, and other disciplines to coordinate electrical systems within the overall design
• Apply sustainable strategies aligned with green building goals such as LEED and WELL certifications
• Conduct reviews of submittals, RFIs, and shop drawings during construction phases
• Participate in client meetings to gather requirements and recommend system approaches
• Explain technical subjects clearly to both technical team members and non-technical audiences
• Mentor junior team members and conduct reviews of their work to ensure quality and compliance
• Stay informed on industry best practices, updated codes, and innovative technologies
• Occasional travel may be necessary

We are helping a multi-discipline full service MEP Engineering and Architecture Firm with an electrical engineer for their growing Detroit team

Responsibilities

• Develop electrical system designs including power distribution, lighting, controls, fire alarm, and low-voltage infrastructure
• Perform calculations and create detailed documentation for electrical layouts
• Ensure all design work adheres to applicable codes, standards (such as NEC and NFPA), and client-specific requirements
• Produce technical drawings, reports, and studies supporting project needs
• Assist with data collection and evaluation in support of engineering analyses
• Work closely with architecture teams, mechanical engineers, and other disciplines to coordinate electrical systems within the overall design
• Apply sustainable strategies aligned with green building goals such as LEED and WELL certifications
