Job summary

FieldAI’s Irvine team builds embodied AI for real robots with real sensors and field deployments. The Electrical Engineer role spans power, harnessing, PCB design, and robust communication in a tightly integrated hardware team.

You will work across design, testing, and field support to deliver reliable, scalable robotic systems. You’ll collaborate with mechanical, sensor, and compute teams to ensure end-to-end system reliability while contributing to production and servicing pipelines in

Qualifications

• Education: B.S., M.S., or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Robotics, or a related field.
• Power systems design and testing experience with low-voltage rails.
• Hands-on harness design and integration for robotics or automotive-like systems.
• PCB schematic/layout proficiency with KiCAD/Altium or equivalent.
• Experience with USB, Ethernet, CAN, I2C, GMSL, and wireless comms.
• Ability to produce detailed electrical documentation for design and servicing.
• Experience collaborating across mechanical, compute, and autonomy teams.

Responsibilities

• Electrical System Design: power architecture, wiring harnesses, PCB design, networking, budgets.
• Electrical System Implementation: CAD schematics, calculations, EMI/EMC robustness, field-robust design.
• Electrical System Production & Servicing: vendor liaison, QA checks, field support.
