LifeLens Technologies, Inc. is an Ivyland, PA based medical device developer seeking an Electrical Engineer: Hardware Development to design, test, and bring to manufacturing the company’s wearable health care products.

The role emphasizes RF design, PCB development, and collaboration with contract manufacturers, with a focus on safety compliance and DFMA/DFT practices. This is a full-time, on-site position at our Ivyland facility.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
  • Experience with analog, digital, and RF mixed-signal design.
  • Familiarity with IEC 60601 EMC standards.

Responsibilities

  • Generate system requirements and specifications for hardware.
  • Design, debug, modify and verify electrical components.
  • Create circuit schematics and BOMs for PCB assemblies.
  • Lead hardware design reviews and hardware projects.
  • Ensure safety and participate in risk management.
  • Coordinate transfer of PCB designs to contract manufacturers.
  • Support manufacturing and DFMA/DFT activities.

This is a full-time, on-site position.

Summary

The electrical engineer designs, develops, and tests the manufacturing of the Company’s product by applying principles of electrical engineering to create functional solutions. The responsibilities include detailed design work, calculations, troubleshooting, and ensuring compliance with safety standards.

Essential Functions
  • Participate in the generation of system requirements and specifications
  • Carry out electrical engineering design activities including: design, debug, modifications and verification of electrical components of the company’s products
  • Develop and document circuit schematics and create BOM and other engineering drawings as needed for printed circuit board (PCB) assemblies required
  • Develop manufacturing and test instructions
  • Support the layout of as well as DFMA and DFT of printed circuit boards
  • Participate in or lead design reviews by providing expertise on hardware design
  • Participate in or lead hardware project requirements for new product development
  • Transfer PCB designs to contract manufacturers and act as liaison with contract manufacturer for all design issues
  • Transfer PCBAs to in-house manufacturing for prototypes and released products and provide support as needed
  • Ensure the device’s electrical safety and participate in risk management activities
  • Required experience in radio frequency (RF) product design, tuning and debugging, and custom antenna designs (i.e. BLE, WIFI, LTE, and other RF protocols as needed in product design
  • Work with certification labs to test and certify the products to applicable safety and EMC standards, including designs with intended radios. required
  • Ensure compliance with environmental regulations (RoHS)
  • Lead hardware improvement projects as required by the business
  • Support manufacturing activities as needed
  • System design and implementation for high-speed radio, external memory and interface (if necessary) connectors, passives, debug interface, power management some of which are already selected
  • Other tasks as assigned
Competencies
  • Sound knowledge of electronics engineering design principles for analog, digital and RF mixed signal designs
  • Experience with Electrical/RF engineering for medical devices
  • Familiarity with IEC 60601 family of standards: Design and testing for EMC
  • Demonstrated ability to design products in a timely fashion with high quality
  • Proficiency in design software like CAD and simulation tools
  • Mathematical and analytical skills for calculations and problem-solving
  • Attention to detail to ensure accuracy in design and implementation
  • Excellent communication skills to collaborate with other engineers and stakeholders
  • Logical thinking with creative problem-solving ability
  • Detail-orientated, highly motivated, patient and diligent
Required Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline preferred
