Job summary

City of Cookeville is seeking an experienced electrical engineer to provide engineering support for energy operations, including electric transmission and gas distribution. You will guide the Engineering Division to ensure compliance with TVPPA, NESC, and ANSI codes and will develop specifications, perform calculations, and coordinate with outside firms on special projects.

The role requires a bachelor's in electrical engineering with four to six years of electric distribution experience and a

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering plus four to six years of electric distribution engineering experience; or a combination of education and experience.
• A valid Tennessee driver’s license is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide direction to the Engineering Division to ensure compliance with TVPPA, NESC, and ANSI codes.
• Perform and approve engineering calculations related to line design and operation.
• Assist in system planning and develop equipment specifications as required.
• Provide system data on request and coordinate work by outside engineering firms on special projects.
• Develop and recommend policies related to new service and line extension.
• Coordinate system maintenance and renovation and investigate customer service complaints.
