Job summary

Genex Systems is seeking an Electrical Engineer for the NASA Langley Research Center in Hampton, VA. This on-site role focuses on electrical design across high to low voltage systems, labs and wind tunnel facilities.

You will work with the Electrical Engineering team to develop concepts, perform analyses, and oversee construction support, with opportunities to lead complex design efforts at higher levels.

Qualifications

• U.S. citizenship is required.
• Degree(s) in Electrical Engineering as specified.
• Experience with power distribution design and at least one of lighting, fire alarm, or communications.

Responsibilities

• Design power distribution from substation to facility service with relaying studies.
• Design lighting, fire alarm, and communication systems for labs and buildings.
• Specify and design VSDs for motors across ranges of horsepower.
• Support process control and automation work including PLC-based systems.
• Prepare analyses, specifications, calculations, and cost estimates per codes.
• Present designs at reviews and provide construction and field support.
• Coordinate requirements with other disciplines to keep projects within scope.
