Job summary

OpenPPG seeks an Electrical Engineer to design and test hardware for electric paramotors and ultralight aircraft. You will work on PCBA design, power distribution, BMS, motor controllers, and flight compute modules, integrating across systems from concept to test.

Based in Canfield, OH, the role offers remote-friendly flexibility and opportunities to contribute to flight performance and safety through hands-on hardware development and engineering excellence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or graduate degree in Electrical Engineering or related field / equivalent experience (degree not required).
• 2+ years of industry experience in electrical design.
• Solid electrical engineering fundamentals with hands-on experience designing, building, and testing PCBAs.
• Proficiency in Altium or KiCad for schematics and layout.
• Master debugging skills for hardware issues, with the ability to document problems and implement solutions efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Develop conceptual designs and trade studies for electric aircraft components.
• Design and validate PCBAs for battery management systems, motor controllers, power distribution, sensing boards, or flight compute modules.
• Review design artifacts (schematics, layouts, BOMs) from peers or suppliers.
• Contribute to system integration and test activities, including test execution, debugging, and optimization for flight performance and safety.
