Job summary

Battelle seeks an Electrical Engineer (Early Career) in Columbus, OH, to perform basic engineering analysis and structured assignments on electrical/electronic systems. This 100% onsite role collaborates with a multidisciplinary team of engineers, scientists, and technicians in advancing materials and energetics projects.

Responsibilities include developing tools and models for power systems, generating schematics, and building hardware prototypes in lab environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field, 0–2 years experience or master’s in related field.
• US Citizenship with ability to obtain/maintain a clearance.
• Physically fit for tasks including ladders and confined spaces.
• Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
• Solid grasp of basic electrical engineering concepts and ability to learn.

Responsibilities

• Analyze equipment to establish operating data and select components per specs.
• Develop tools, simulations, and models for electric power systems.
• Maintain and troubleshoot electrical/embedded systems with a team.
• Maintain and troubleshoot independently with minimal oversight.
• Collaborate with Columbus engineers to design, fabricate, and integrate systems.
• Generate and interpret electrical schematics.
• Follow installation and testing procedures.
• Build, prototype, and evaluate electronic hardware in lab environments.
