Job description

Logos Space is a Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite system purpose-built to serve the connectivity needs of commercial enterprise users and government users. We will help fill an important gap in the market by providing resilient, high‑performance satellite‑based connectivity services to enterprise and government customers worldwide. Business customers have contracts with agreed‑upon performance standards for their broadband, and Logos will build these capabilities into the system from the beginning. Speed and reliability are the foundation of the system. Logos is designed to extend cloud and data center network connectivity anywhere in the world to fixed, seaborne, and airborne terminals.

Position Summary, Responsibilities & Qualifications

The electrical engineering team at Logos Space works on the design, development, flight validation, assembly, integration, test, and inflight success of the Logos fleet of spacecraft. Electrical engineering is responsible for ensuring that flight avionics on the Logos bus and payload are fully validated, ensuring the success of our network via analysis and test. The development of suitable facilities and the required ground support equipment also falls within the purview of the electrical engineering team. Electrical engineers will support hardware design activities from the idea stage to flight.

You should be prepared to work and thrive in a fast‑moving environment where you are comfortable taking vague design ideas and turning them into tangible hardware ready for test and flight. We are seeking engineers who love to solve hard problems.

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for the overall electrical design (component selection, PCB design, etc.) and analysis of flight avionics hardware
  • Perform nominal and worst‑case analysis scenarios across applicable phases of hardware development
  • Own product delivery timeline through entire lifecycle (design, development, prototyping, production build, system integration, and on‑orbit operations)
  • Generate and release technical drawings, specifications, test procedures, and reports in support of the hardware design and validation
Basic Qualifications
Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math) with relevant electrical design and analysis work experience
Experience
  • A minimum of 5 years experience in electrical design and analysis
  • 3+ years of experience with signal/power integrity tools like Ansys SIwave and HyperLynx
  • Experience with high‑speed digital interfaces (e.g., DDR4/DDR5, 1G/10G Ethernet)
  • Experience with communication circuits (e.g., Ethernet, RS422/RS485, CAN, SPI)
  • Experience with worst‑case analysis (Monte Carlo) and part stress analysis
  • Professional experience with PCB design software packages such as Altium
  • Strong understanding of parts derating and failure mode evaluation
  • Experience with test hardware (oscilloscopes, power supplies, spectrum analyzers, etc.)
  • Proven track record of working with electrical hardware systems through entire product life cycle
  • Working with contract manufacturers to build, troubleshoot and test PCBA
  • Self‑motivated with strong organizational, written, and oral communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
Education
  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math) with relevant electrical design and analysis work experience
Experience
  • Experience with circuit simulation tools such as Simetrix/Simplis and LTSpice
  • Experience with RF systems and EMI/EMC/ESD mitigations through design
  • Familiarity with parts derating standards such as EEE‑INST‑002 and ECSS‑Q‑ST‑30‑11C
  • Familiarity with IPC standards relevant to PCB design (IPC‑2221)
  • Knowledge of automation/scripting software such as Python and MATLAB
  • Ability and willingness to attain a Top Secret Clearance
