Position Overview

As the Electrical Design Engineer with Sciaky, you will be responsible for electrical and controls design for Sciaky products in a cost-effective manner, following our Quality Management Systems to ensure compliance with standards and specifications. This includes designing system schematics, electrical wiring, and panel layouts. This position is based at our Chicago office (near Midway Airport) and offers a complete and competitive compensation and benefits package.

Qualifications

• Knowledgeable in servo and motion control.
• Ability to interpret product/machine specifications from internal and external sources and execute designs that meet customer requirements with minimal supervision.
• Experience designing power distribution and related control circuits, process controls, and drive systems, including equipment powered by 480/400/600/220 VAC 3-phase, 50/60Hz, 10 to 400 amps (international requirements).
• Experience with electrical standards and safety codes compliance.
• Experience releasing electrical drawings packages for manufacturing with strong documentation and revision control skills.
• Proficiency in designing with EPLAN Electric P8 and Bentley Microstation V8 CAD systems.
• Experience creating documentation for electrical panels, including assembly and wiring drawings, BOMs, and layout diagrams.
• Ability to size and specify electrical components such as circuit breakers, fuses, contactors, relays, low voltage power supplies, transformers, terminal strips, I/O devices, and wire ducts.
• Design experience interfacing with process control and motion system components like motor drives, PLCs, and CNCs.
• Five to ten years of experience designing industrial electrical/electronic equipment for industries such as aeronautics and automotive.
• Must be a U.S. citizen.
• Position requires full-time work at the Sciaky facility in Chicago, IL.

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of five years of electrical engineering experience.
• Experience designing to established industry quality standards (e.g., ISO 9001).
• Proficiency with computer-based data entry systems such as MS Office.
