Key Job Responsibilities
  • Develop, maintain, and support components, products, and/or services through engineering projects, focusing on market demands and process improvements.
  • Conduct engineering evaluations, including investigations, calculations, and tests with well-defined requirements and outcomes.
  • Provide conceptual and strategic solutions to engineering problems.
  • Take responsibility for personal learning and development to benefit oneself and the organization.
  • Lead supporting teams involved in components, products, or services, and engineering process improvements.
  • Ensure effective communication of engineering issues to comply with global standards for design and safety.
  • Support process improvements in engineering design, development, and maintenance.
  • Participate in and support change management initiatives to achieve organizational goals.
  • Supervise small groups on specific tasks, projects, or functions.
  • Review current designs for cost reduction opportunities.
  • Identify causes of field problems and propose corrective actions.
  • Engage with suppliers regarding product changes or new requirements.
  • Perform basic evaluations, calculations, and testing; consult with senior engineers as needed.
  • Set up and conduct engineering tests to meet defined requirements.
  • Stay informed about relevant regulations, standards, and industry guidelines for KOMATSU MINING products.
  • Visit mines to observe machinery in operation and develop problem recognition and corrective strategies.
Qualifications/Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering or a relevant discipline.
  • At least 3 years’ experience in engineering design, machine application, or mining industry preferred.
  • Experience with CAD tools is desirable.
  • Experience in Lean Engineering principles is desirable.
  • Experience in change management is desirable.
  • Participation in cross-functional teams is highly desired.
  • Certifications or project management experience are advantageous.
  • Professional registration or membership in technical societies is beneficial.
