Job summary

MITRE in Massachusetts seeks an experienced Electrical Engineer to design, develop, and maintain electrical systems and components for defense and national security programs. The role requires clear communication with leadership and close collaboration across teams.

Candidates should have 5+ years of related experience with a relevant degree, or 3 years with a Master’s, or a PhD with applicable experience. An active Top Secret clearance and on-site work five days a week are required.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a minimum of 5 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or similar education; or 3 years and a Master’s degree; or a PhD with relevant experience who can immediately contribute at this job step; or equivalent combination of related education and work experience.
• Demonstrate an ability to communicate and present complex technical recommendations clearly and effectively.
• Experience applying fundamental understanding of systems engineering when evaluating designs.
• Must have an active Top Secret U.S Government issued Security Clearance. Per the U.S. Government’s eligibility requirements, you must be a U.S Citizen to be considered for a security clearance.
• This position has an on-site requirement of 5 days a week on-site.

Responsibilities

• Planning and implementing the design, manufacture, installation and/or maintenance of electrical systems and apparatus, such as electric motors, machinery controls, wiring and power systems/devices, for the generation, transmission and control of electric power.
• Proven communication skills to effectively inform leadership.
• Research, develop, design, and test electrical components, equipment, systems and networks.
• Design electrical equipment, components, products, and systems.
• Diagnose malfunctions in existing products and recommend improvements or modifications to produce desired results.
• Compile and evaluate design and test data and prepare technical specifications.
• Analyze, develop and recommend design approaches to meet production requirements for new or improved products and/or processes.
