Job summary

TYG is expanding in Dallas and seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join a new office. You will lead electrical designs for mission-critical, industrial, and commercial projects and help drive regional growth.

Duties include power distribution, lighting design, standby systems, NEC/NFPA/IBC compliance, and coordination with architectural and mechanical teams. PE or EIT licensure a plus; 0-7 years experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field required.
• 0-7 years of electrical engineering design experience.
• E.I.T. certification preferred; PE licensure a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop electrical power distribution and lighting designs for medium- and low-voltage systems.
• Design emergency and standby power solutions, including generators, UPS, and automatic transfer systems.
• Complete electrical calculations, panel schedules, equipment sizing, and system studies.
• Perform code reviews and ensure NEC, NFPA, IBC, and local requirements compliance.
• Conduct fault current, selective coordination, arc flash, voltage drop, and Neher-McGrath analyses.
• Coordinate electrical designs with architectural, mechanical, structural, and low-voltage disciplines.
• Review submittals, RFIs, and construction documentation.
• Assist with QA/QC reviews to maintain accurate and complete project deliverables.
