Job summary

TYG is expanding its Dallas presence and seeks an experienced mechanical engineer to lead HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical design for complex facilities. You will support fire protection and controls, perform load and airflow calculations, and develop coordinated drawings in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.

Ideal candidates have 3–7 years of mechanical design experience, strong Revit/CFD skills, and a proactive approach to meeting deadlines.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field required.
  • 3–7 years of mechanical design experience.
  • HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection experience preferred.
  • Experience with data centers, healthcare, laboratories, pharmaceutical, or industrial facilities is a plus.
  • E.I.T. preferred; PE or progress toward licensure is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Design HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical systems for complex facilities.
  • Support fire protection and controls engineering.
  • Perform load, ventilation, airflow, equipment, and system calculations.
  • Apply applicable building codes and engineering standards.
  • Develop coordinated construction drawings and technical documentation.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and project stakeholders.
  • Communicate project requirements, schedules, and technical issues.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development.

We have recently partnered with an industry‑leading MEP firm in the mission critical and hyperscale data center space that is looking to open up a brand new Dallas office.

The east coast headquartered firm have rapidly established themselves in the industry and are growing at such a strong rate that they are now looking to expand into the Dallas market. Therefore, they are currently searching for an experienced mechanical engineer to join this new team and help lead this office's regional growth.

This hire will be given the rare opportunity to join one of the quickest growing MEP firms in the data center market, whilst also taking on immediate responsibility and playing a key role in leading the direction of a new office. The firm is also very well positioned financially and this is reflected in how well they compensate their employees!

Duties/Responsibilities
  • Design HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical systems for complex facilities

Required Skills/Abilities
  • Proficiency with Autodesk Revit and Microsoft Office
  • Experience with mechanical design software; CFD experience preferred
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and communication abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field required
  • 3–7 years of mechanical design experience
  • HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection experience preferred
  • Experience with data centers, healthcare, laboratories, pharmaceutical, or industrial facilities is a plus
  • E.I.T. preferred; PE or progress toward licensure is a plus
