Job summary

UT-Battelle in Oak Ridge, TN seeks an Electrical Engineer to support the Government Computing Facility data center project. You will provide electrical engineering, design oversight, field support, and coordination for high‑performance computing facilities.

The role requires ABET‑accredited BS in electrical engineering and at least five years of relevant experience in power distribution, instrumentation, controls, and commissioning. Secret clearance may be required.

Qualifications

• BS degree in electrical engineering from ABET-accredited institution.
• Minimum of 5 years in electrical engineering for new construction, renovation, plant operations, power distribution, and/or SCADA.
• Experience with design reviews, construction oversight, field inspections, commissioning, testing, and issue resolution.
• Ability to coordinate with operations, construction, facilities, and maintenance teams in co-occupancy environments.
• Experience creating and managing project documents, closeout, and as-built records.

Responsibilities

• Oversee electrical engineering and design oversight for data center projects.
• Support planning, design, construction, commissioning, and turnover of electrical systems.
• Develop and review project definitions, scopes, cost estimates, schedules, and procurement packages.
• Review and approve design documents, change orders, and specifications.
• Collaborate with telecommunications, power utility, facility automation, cybersecurity, operations, and safety SMEs.
• Identify and resolve design/construction issues including safety, cost, schedule, and quality concerns.
• Contribute to configuration control and documentation in site databases.
