Job summary

WSP’s kW Mission Critical Engineering division in NYC is seeking a Mid-Level Electrical Engineer to design complex power and building systems for data centers at One Penn Plaza. You will lead electrical concepts, coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams, and mentor junior staff.

Ideal candidates have a bachelor’s in Electrical/Architectural Engineering, 3+ years in data center or mission critical environments, and proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, SKM, eTap or Cyme.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Architectural Engineering with electrical building systems emphasis.
• 3+ years of experience designing electrical systems for data centers or similar high-performance buildings.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, SKM, eTap or Cyme.
• Knowledge of building, electrical and energy codes.
• Ability to travel to project sites.

Responsibilities

• Design electrical systems for buildings including lighting, receptacle, general, essential, and critical electrical infrastructure.
• Lead and mentor entry-level and junior engineers.
• Coordinate with internal project teams and external clients for design reviews.
• Prepare drawings and specifications for issuance to architects, contractors and owners.
• Perform short circuit, coordination and arc flash analyses.
• Support construction administration activities on projects.
