Job summary

TensorWave in Las Vegas, NV is seeking an Electrical Engineer (Data Center) to lead design, validation, and oversight of high-power electrical distribution systems for our AI compute platform.

Ideal candidates hold a B.S. in Electrical Engineering with 7+ years’ experience in mission-critical power systems, HV and LV distribution, and NEC/IEEE standards, with PE license preferred.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Electrical Engineering is required.
• 7+ years of experience in the design, construction, and commissioning of mission-critical electrical systems.
• Expert-level knowledge of high-voltage and low-voltage power distribution systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed design review and technical validation of high-power electrical distribution systems, including medium voltage switchgear, UPS, paralleling switchgear, and generator plants.
• Design and model electrical infrastructure to support next-generation AI hardware, focusing on high-density power delivery at the rack level and ensuring system reliability.
• Conduct power quality studies, short circuit analysis, and arc flash analysis using industry software (e.g., SKM, ETAP).
• Provide subject matter expertise during construction, commissioning (Level 4/5 testing), and operation to resolve complex electrical issues.
• Ensure all electrical designs adhere to NFPA 70 (NEC), IEEE, and corporate safety standards.

About The Role

We’re looking for a Electrical Engineer (Data Center) to join our team during an exciting phase of growth. In this role, you’ll be responsible for the technical design, validation, and oversight of high-power electrical distribution systems, working closely with cross-functional partners to support business objectives while upholding our standards for excellence, collaboration, and impact.

What You’ll Do

• Perform detailed design review and technical validation of high-power electrical distribution systems, including medium voltage switchgear, uninterruptible power supplies (UPS), paralleling switchgear, and generator plants.
• Design and model electrical infrastructure to support next-generation AI hardware, focusing on high-density power delivery at the rack level and ensuring system reliability (fault tolerance, selectivity).
• Conduct power quality studies, short circuit analysis, and arc flash analysis using industry software (e.g., SKM, ETAP).
• Provide subject matter expertise during construction, commissioning (Level 4/5 testing), and operation to resolve complex electrical issues.
• Ensure all electrical designs adhere to NFPA 70 (NEC), IEEE, and corporate safety standards.

Who You Are

Required Qualifications

• B.S. in Electrical Engineering.
• 7+ years of experience in the design, construction, and commissioning of mission-critical electrical systems.
• Expert-level knowledge of high-voltage and low-voltage power distribution systems.

Preferred Qualifications

• Professional Engineer (P.E.) license.
• Experience with battery energy storage systems (BESS).
