Job summary

Eastman Chemical Company in Kingsport, TN, is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to provide technical support and project coordination for 24/7 distribution services and utilities operations. The role focuses on design, installation, operation, commissioning, and ongoing improvements of utility systems including refrigeration, water, air, and steam networks.

Ideal candidates will have a BS in Electrical Engineering, 5+ years of engineering experience, and a preference for PE licensure.

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical Engineering from accredited college or university.
• 5+ years of engineering experience preferred.
• PE License preferred.
• Experience with utility systems, multidisciplinary project management, capital projects, maintenance, and/or construction is preferred.
• Good people and communications skills, with the ability to work with a diverse team across multiple levels of the organization
• Safety focus with a strong orientation toward improving the long-term viability of the teams & systems underpinning site operations
• Self-motivated and persistent
• Demonstrated ability to prioritize and drive progress on multiple projects simultaneously
• Ability to make decisions under uncertainty and drive projects to completion with minimal guidance

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support and project coordination for ongoing 24/7 operations in Distribution Services (DS) Department, Utilities Division.
• Design, installation, operation, control, troubleshooting, maintenance, and compliance to plant utility systems.
• Collaborate with operations, maintenance, and manufacturing leaders to execute projects safely and effectively.
• Support engineering studies, equipment/instrument specification and selection, and capital project activities.
• Field support for operators when systems are upset or not performing as intended.
