Job summary

Commonwealth of Pennsylvania is seeking an Electrical Engineer Consultant to support the Department of Corrections' statewide electrical infrastructure. You will review designs, assess systems, and advise on safe, effective solutions to keep facilities running reliably.

Responsibilities include design review, field inspections, project coordination, system evaluation and CAD documentation. The role requires a PE license, valid driver's license, and ability to travel across PA.

Qualifications

Two years as an Electrical Engineer 2 or four years of professional electrical engineering experience on structural electrical systems.
Professional Engineer license required by PA State Registration Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors and Geologists.

Responsibilities

Design Review: Evaluate electrical drawings, specifications, and cost estimates and provide recommendations.
Field Inspection: Assess construction sites to review conditions, identify issues, and offer technical solutions.
Project Coordination: Work with staff, consultants, and officials to align engineering efforts across projects.
System Evaluation: Investigate electrical failures and determine appropriate corrective actions.
Technical Support: Assist facility staff with troubleshooting, repairs, and installation of electrical systems.
Documentation Work: Prepare design data, reports, and CAD drawings to support construction activities.
