Job summary

The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania’s Department of Corrections is seeking an Electrical Engineer Consultant to help ensure the safety and reliability of critical infrastructure statewide. You will review designs, inspect sites, and advise on safe and effective electrical solutions across correctional facilities.

This role requires a PA Professional Engineer license, a valid driver's license, and the ability to travel statewide.

Qualifications

• Professional Engineer license required in PA.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Two years as Electrical Engineer 2 or four years of professional electrical engineering experience working on structural electrical systems.

Responsibilities

• Design Review: Evaluate electrical drawings, specifications, and cost estimates and provide recommendations.
• Field Inspection: Assess construction sites to review conditions, identify issues, and offer technical solutions.
• Project Coordination: Work with staff, consultants, and officials to align engineering efforts across projects.
• System Evaluation: Investigate electrical failures and determine appropriate corrective actions.
• Technical Support: Assist facility staff with troubleshooting, repairs, and installation of electrical systems.
• Documentation Work: Prepare design data, reports, and CAD drawings to support construction activities.
