Job summary

Southwire Company, LLC invites qualified students to join its Electrical Engineer Co-Op program at North Campus. The role provides hands-on experience supporting manufacturing operations through electrical engineering principles, with mentorship and real-world project exposure.

The program runs 10–18 weeks (interns 10-12 weeks, co-ops 16-18 weeks) with expected responsibilities including troubleshooting, PLC programming basics, and documentation. Pay rate is $21–$23 per hour.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Electrical or related engineering field.
• Basic understanding of electrical power distribution and industrial controls.
• Willingness to learn AutoCAD Electrical or similar software.

Responsibilities

• Assist in troubleshooting electrical and control system issues affecting production.
• Support root-cause analysis to improve reliability and performance.
• Gain exposure to PLC programming and basic ladder logic documentation.
• Contribute to engineering design, schematics, and system documentation.
