Job summary

MSA Safety in Cranberry Township, PA seeks an Electrical co-op/Intern to support New Product Development through designing schematics for test boards and prototypes. You will contribute to electrical design decisions and collaborate with the engineering team.

Responsibilities include validating and debugging boards, developing PCB layouts, and coordinating with fabrication. ABET-accredited degree progress and strong communication skills are required.

Qualifications

  • Pursuing an ABET-accredited degree in Electrical Engineering or related field; at least one sophomore semester completed.
  • Co-op rotation requires solid communication and teamwork.
  • Strong problem-solving and collaboration skills are essential.

Responsibilities

  • Contributes to electrical team for one or more New Product Development (NPD) projects
  • Designs electrical circuit schematics for test boards, prototypes, and new product designs
  • Independently develops ideas and solutions to electrical and system design problems
  • Validates, tests, and debugs circuit boards
  • Develops PCB layout of complex multi-layer circuit board designs
  • Completes PCB Gerber file generation, ordering, and design-file coordination with fabrication house
  • Completes surface mount component rework of PCBs and component replacement as needed
  • Runs and documents electrical and system tests
