Job summary

Associates Systems LLC is seeking an Electrical Engineer/CNC Controls Programmer in Marshall, MO to design, develop, test, and support CNC control software for CNC-based equipment. The role integrates PLC, HMI, motion, and CNC control systems with FANUC CNC controls.

On-site work is required. Responsibilities include configuring CNC controls, developing PLC/HMI/CNC programs, testing on the shop floor, and providing technical documentation and support.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, Computer Engineering, or equivalent technical experience.
• 2+ years of experience programming industrial controls for CNC systems
• Strong aptitude in ladder logic programming
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and technical documentation
• Technical writing experience highly recommended
• Proficient troubleshooting skills, including root-cause analysis of electrical and software issues
• Applied mathematical skills and mechanical analysis ability
• FANUC CNC programming (Macro programming, PMC ladder logic, G-code optimization, Servo tuning, Parameter setup)
• Physical Demands (lift or move up to 50 pounds)

Responsibilities

• Setup of CNC controls, including setting parameters for motors, drives, and I/O configuration.
• Develop, write, and troubleshoot PMC/PLC, HMI, CNC, and motion control programs for new machines and retrofit packages.
• Install, test, and validate software on production floor and occasionally at customer sites.
• Program and configure FANUC CNC controls, including ladder logic, PMC, macro programming, and servo/motion parameters.
• Develop HMI screens and user interfaces for machine operation.
• Collaborate with the mechanical and electrical engineering to ensure full system integration.
• Create documentation, including electrical schematics, machine manual sections for controls, and troubleshooting guides.
• Provide technical support, diagnostics, and corrective actions for internal teams and customers.
