Smurfit Westrock Solvay Mill is seeking an Electrical Engineer to serve as project manager overseeing multiple capital projects across electrical, instrumentation, and controls. You will coordinate with Purchasing, Maintenance, and Operations to ensure on-time delivery and compliance.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering and 5 years of relevant experience, with a strong background in PLC/DCS, power distribution, and VSDs. Pulp and paper knowledge is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field with 5 years of experience.
• Experience with process design, power distribution, PLC/DCS and VSDs.
• Capital project development, execution and commissioning.
• Troubleshooting plant electrical equipment and systems.
• Support maintenance with obsolescence planning and spare parts strategy.
• Pulp and paper experience is a plus.

Responsabilités

• Manage multiple capital projects (electrical, instrumentation and/or controls) from design through construction.
• Develop projects within Front End Loading framework and provide E&I support to mechanical teams.
• Coordinate with Purchasing to identify all materials and equipment.
• Assist teams to achieve mill goals by providing technical support.
• Coordinate activities with Maintenance and Operations for seamless execution.
• Provide E&I expertise on maintenance work orders as needed.
• Update mill specifications and review management of change proposals.
• Support equipment failure analysis and preservation of existing mill assets.

The Smurfit Westrock Solvay Mill has an opportunity for an Electrical Engineer to join the team as a project manager overseeing multiple capital projects as the company continues it’s investment in our core business to support the mills client groups.

Job Duties:

• Manage multiple capital projects (primarily electrical, instrumentation and/or controls), including design, purchasing, contract and construction management, financial and documentation
• Project development within a structured environment on such things as Front End Loading
• Provide E&I project engineering support to the mechanical project engineers on their projects
• Work with Purchasing Dept. to identify all project materials and equipment for project completion
• Assist in the attainment of general mill goals by serving on special teams or supplying teams with necessary technical support
• Responsible for coordinating engineering and project activities while interacting with Maintenance and Operations
• Supply technical assistance for electrical equipment failure analysis and preservation on existing mill equipment
• Prepare, review and update mill specifications and review management of change proposals
• Provide E&I expertise on maintenance work orders as needed

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, electrical engineering technology or related field and 5 years of experience in job offered or related occupation.

Position requires experience in the following:

• Process design, power distribution, PLC / DCS and variable speed drives.
• Capital project development, execution, and installation/commissioning.
• Troubleshooting plant electrical equipment and systems.
• Supporting plant maintenance team on preventive maintenance activities, including equipment obsolescence planning and spare parts procurement strategy.
• Pulp and Paper experience a plus.

The salary range for this position is $117,750 - $196,250. The benefits for this role include a bonus plan, health, dental and vision insurance, flexible spending accounts or health savings accounts, retirement savings plans, life and disability insurance programs, and paid sick leave as required by applicable state/local law, 15 days of paid vacation, and 11 days of paid holidays, subject to annual change. Your pay will be based on factors such as your skills, experience, and education.
