Job summary

The University of South Carolina seeks an Electrical Engineer to lead in-house electrical design for campus infrastructure projects. You will coordinate across architectural, mechanical, structural, and civil teams to ensure site plan compatibility and code-compliant installations.

You will perform field investigations, refine project scopes, and exercise AHJ review authority for campus electrical installations, substations, and renewals, while mentoring a multi-disciplinary design group and

Qualifications

  • Deep knowledge of NEC, NESC, NFPA 70E, IEEE standards.
  • Ability to serve as AHJ reviewer for campus permits, inspections, and code interpretations.
  • Proficient in CAD tools and power system modeling software.
  • Experience leading multi-disciplinary design teams and coordinating across disciplines.

Responsibilities

  • Lead in-house electrical design for campus infrastructure projects.
  • Coordinate designs across architectural, mechanical, structural, and civil teams.
  • Perform field investigations to refine project scopes and ensure project alignment with site plans.
  • Review and approve electrical installations, equipment, and substations for code compliance.
