Job summary

Jobot is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join its growing MEP team within a fully integrated AEC firm based in Oak Brook, IL. You will collaborate with senior engineers and multidisciplinary teams to develop high-quality building systems that meet client objectives, sustainability goals, schedules, and codes.

The role spans schematic design through construction documents and construction administration, with potential for PE licensure and LEED exposure.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related accredited program.
• 4–8 years of related electrical engineering experience.
• Professional Engineer (P.E.) license required for the Engineer title; Designer designation possible for non-P.E. candidates.
• Experience with electrical design, analysis, and system selection for building applications.
• Strong knowledge of building codes and regulatory requirements.
• Experience developing electrical design documentation, including BIM models, drawings, and specifications.
• Ability to participate from schematic design through construction documents and administration.
• Experience coordinating permitting and regulatory documentation with local authorities.
• Ability to collaborate with architects, sustainability professionals, construction teams, and outside consultants.
• Strong technical communication and problem-solving skills.
• LEED certification or other sustainable building certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop high-quality electrical building systems in collaboration with senior engineers and multidisciplinary teams.
• Work through the full project lifecycle from schematic design to post-occupancy.
• Create BIM models, drawings, and specifications for electrical systems.
• Coordinate permitting and regulatory documentation with local authorities.
• Mentor junior team members and contribute to technical growth.
• Support construction administration activities and site observations.
